Well my stitch markers are finally in the mail for my secret pal. I guess I can finally post the link to her blog since she knows they’re coming and it’s not such a secret anymore! LOL I included a few extra since I was feeling so guilty for making her wait so long. Thanks for being patient with me Bev!

I’ve been knitting a little here and there on the Upbeat Top. Not enough to post a picture though. It doesn’t look that much different than my last picture.

I’ve also been crocheting on my string bag. I’ve made progress on that. But again, not that you could really tell from a picture.

Things are getting crazy at school with end of the year testing. We always have something going on between Relay for Life, t-ball, Adventure Guides and then trying to go geocaching in our “free”time. Not much time left over for knitting. Oh well, I’ll get back to it soon.

We took the entire school to the circus today. Need I say more?!?!?

I’m still recovering.

And since when did Ringling Bros. circus get so lame?

It seriously wasn’t worth it for me to work a full day.

And I’m a bad, bad, bad bead-it person. I still haven’t sent out my stitch markers. I promise I will do that tomorrow.

This morning I was lugging around 200 pounds of dirt. Not all at once, but in 40 pound bags. I am getting ready to plant some strawberry plants and some raspberry bushes (very small right now) in some containers. I’m not quite ready to commit to digging up a section of my yard for a real garden but I thought I’d give container gardening a try this year. A friend’s yard was being overtaken with strawberries and raspberries so it all worked out for everyone.

After a super nice Mother’s Day performance at M.’s Kindergarten, I decided to pop over to Home Depot with T. Sure, I thought, I’ll just pick up the dirt and the extra containers I need. One 40 pound bag isn’t heavy. But, loading a cart with 200 pounds of it is hard! And then pushing it through the checkout and to the car is a good workout. Then I had to unload it into the car. And one more time out of the car and carry each bag to the back patio. By the time I got each container filled, I was exhausted. I used to think I was in shape….

I’m hoping to get strawberries this year, but I know that I won’t get any raspberries until next year. In a couple of weeks I’ll put out another container or two with some tomato plants. T can eat tomatoes like you can’t believe.

Nothing on the knitting front. I’ve been crocheting a bit lately on my string bag. It’s slow going because the thread is super tiny, but it’s nice and mindless to work on for now. I’ve also been feeling a bit better the last day or two. I think the worst of it was the other day when I posted.

I am going to proclaim to the world how much I love my hubby! Of course I don’t think he reads my blog, so it might be wasted, but I don’t care.

I have the darlingest hubby in the world. I am in a major funk. And he is still so sweet. I have had some things going on at school that has sent me into a bit of a downward spiral since last week. Today I am very, very down. It is reminiscent of two years ago when I finally had to admit defeat and see a doctor about it.

I can’t go into any details, but there is a child at school who is having troubles at home and he is confiding in me. We are calling DCF every day and reporting, but nothing much is being done. It’s very frustrating and depressing. I teach Kindergarten, and my older son is in Kindergarten (not the same school), and it’s so hard for me to imagine what this child is going through when I look at my son.

So I am a barely functional human being lately, and my wonderful hubby doesn’t care about all the stuff that is undone. He just wants me to feel better. That alone makes me cry because when you feel like this you think no one will understand, and here he does understand. I’m crying again while I type this….

*Ok* Back under control again.

In other news… I have stitch markers. I have a box. I just need to wrap it prettily and send it off to my secret pal. I’ll keep it a secret for a little while longer until they’re actually in the mail. I actually went stitch marker crazy and have several sets made. I just need to pick which one I think she’ll like….which is hard since I’ve never read her blog until getting matched up with her! Decisions, decisions.
